If you weren’t aware already, influential culture website GorillavsBear has just started its very own label – Luminelle Records. Their first single is from Montreal’s Helena Deland and is titled ‘There Are A Thousand’. It’s a soulful cracker of a song – with jangling guitars, textured songwriting and a standout vocal to boot, and is part of a larger body of work titled From The Series of Songs “Altogether Unaccompanied” Vol I & II, which will be out this March. If this track is anything to go by, it’s likely to be a complex, mature and beautifully detailed album from Deland. We can’t wait. -HM
